If I get lucky I might make 25 gallons of syrup this year. and thus have some product that I might be able to sell. My question is does a person have to have any state licenses in order to sell their syrup? I know it must be labled with address and phone number.

Don't know about VT, but most states it is considered a farm/agricultural product and you can sell it as an individual with no restrictions other than the ones you mentioned. Where you get into issues with licenses and etc is when you sell it for resell. :D

Vermont has a lot of laws governing maple syrup. They can be found here http://www.vermontagriculture.com/mapleregs.PDF A lot of them are geared towards large producers and packagers, but some relate to all of us

I know in Pa. they get concerned when you produce or handle 1000 gallons or more. then you need a licence from the Dept. of Ag. Cost is $35.00

I know what you mean about the connection... I have a friend that connects at about 24 K, I test drove it a few times, hard to do much of anything unless you know exactly where you're going :?
