We collected enough sap last week, 80 plus gal, that we sugared the pan on Friday. The temps at night are too warm, not colder than 30, and the sap has not run. The weather toward Thur/Fri looks better.? Hope to have a busy weekend.

Having the same results down here too! We tapped and hung about 70 buckets on Sunday and only collected about 35 gallons of sap tonight. Their saying that tomorrow night will get in the 20s and Thursday will be in the mid to upper 30s. Were hoping this will result in a good run to give us enough to sweeten the pan Friday night after work. Were keeping our fingers crossed for good runs over the weekend. If the weather does what they are saying we should be in good shape. Hopefully by then we'll lose a little more snow in the woods. Man it is tough hauling sap in the dark, in 18" of sugar type snow. I'll be sure to have snow shoes by next season!

The weather has forgotten how to get cold at night. Lows are only 30, 29 since the weekend, and it doesn't look promising the rest of the week. We collected about 45 gallons Sunday, added it to the tank and boiled and had a couple small draw offs. Collected 35 gals yesterday. Our trees down over the ridge in the valley are the only ones that had much sap at all. Where's the Canadian cold when you need it? It was completely clear last night and only got down to 29.7*? The only good news is that the snow is melting in the woods. Folks just north of here must be having a great season....

After the 23* night low, Wed. we collected only 50 gallons. It was running really fast for a couple hours, till the afternoon temps got into the 50s. Again warm over night of 33*. It may run on the north ridge. Will boil what we have today, and hope for colder temps after the rain this weekend.
