Do you think a sump pump will work in my releaser I think it will set in the bottom of the tank and plumb to the old floit:confused: http://mapletrader.com/community/images/smilies/confused.gif

I have never tried one but it might. You will still have to put a check valve on the discharge side. My thoughts are that it won't as I would think that they would have a hard time over coming the vacuum. Alot of sugarmakers are switching over to deep well submersible pumps.

I have used a sump pump with no problems in a 12" pvc pipe that was 7 ft. tall. Used it for four years with a SP 22 pulling 13 " vacuum. Now have vacuum dairy tanks and do not need this releaser,but plan on moving it to another location,\.
