i dont know where hinsburg is, but in andover its been running slow and steady for a couple of days. i put in apprx 500 on my grandfarther lot yesterday and every hole i drill was wet. both my lot and his get great southern exposure and man that sun was warm yesterday. i think this make all this difference in how early people tap.

going to plug in another 500 today and then, 700 the rest of the week and were done
good luck maple rookie

I was itching to tap this past weekend, but I kept reading about the snow and decided to hold off. This is my first year with more than 10 taps - made my own rig and moving up to 40 taps... As I look out the window now - the snow is coming down. Hoping I made the right decision to hold off.

How's everyone doing under the snow?

I've managed to get in 325 taps between plowing and shoveling 2 feet of snow. Also boiled about 250 gallons of sap, all 1.75% or less sugar. Was thinking I'd hang buckets by the weekend, but sounds like there's another foot of snow coming in tonight. Buckets may have to wait until next week.

I am tapping tomorrow but darn if the sun has not been out here most of this morning feel like I missed the first good run for sure. I sure wish I could have upgraded from my 2x3 this year but for various reasons it was not in the cards. So I will tap just 110 trees and try to run the hell out of the little rig if time permits

I tapped my most south facing fifty today. Only had to cut one big limb off my mainline. Some were running late afternoon but with the wind and snow flurries not much as yet. I'm up around 1700 feet and the biggest part of my bush faces north so I'm jumping the gun a bit. I'll take my time getting the last 150 tapped in after I finish the south face tomorrow.

I don't know about you folks but we had some major wind...power was out for a couple hours @ 3am. Went up to bush, found 2 big branches on lines. One dead fir on main. Not heavy though. Very warm day today...should have started tapping. Maybe missed out on Feb. run. Oh well. Gonna tap this weekend.:(
