I made the leap and bought a new arch now I need to fire brick and insulate it. Where would I find the brick and ceramic board? I live in western Wisconsin.

Some big hardware stores (e.g. Menard's) may carry firebrick, but the board is much harder to come by.

Here's a couple options for you:
Anderson's, near Cumberland:

Otherwise, don't know how far "west" you are, but I just found this place in Minneapolis that also has good selection and competitive prices. Make sure you tell them it's for maple syruping, as they give a small discount for that.

oh - just saw you're in Eau Claire. of the two options I gave, Anderson's is probably just a tad closer to you?

Thank you for the help, I found the brick at county materials (concrete), and the ceramic fiber blanket at Erheating and cooling contractor. Now the fun starts!
My Dad actually bought the arch from Roth's and gave me the job of gathering the material and bricking the unit.

The brick will be available at any full line concrete and block dealer. If they cater to professional masons they will have the brick. They are used in many fireplace and fire pit constructions. The ceramic blanket might best be bought on ebay. It has been offered many times at good prices.

Got my ceramic board at Bascoms 1" x 12" x 36" for $8.75 each. Ordered on line and it was here in about 3 days.
