When washing and rinsing a membrane do you wash the till it gets to 115 degrees then flush it out with permeate till the Ph equals the Ph going in?

I wash until the RO shuts off on high temp---115 degrees. I then rinse with all of the permeate I've stored, I don't check the pH of the rinse.

Same here. My RO washes at I believe 11ph, then I rinse with 400 gallons+ or permiate water.

how much permeate should i run through a 4x40 after a wash?

250 should be safe...what is the gallon per hour rating for the RO? Seems like the rinse is usually about 75% of the gph rating.

Rule of thumb for rinsing "AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!! It helps save the membranes. we rinse with no less than 500 gallon.
Works for us

Im not sure what my GPH is yet. i need to compare it to others. what size membrane do you have? and what is your GPH? and how much rinse do you use? for an accurate comparison. Also when Rinsing the membrane is it high flow all valves open or pressure flow like when concentrating?
thanks

Chris- What have you got for an RO? My Lapierre has a valve that I turn to "Wash" position. I don't run the high pressure pump just the feed pump. I think the recirculation pump on the membrane housing runs too but I am not positive of that. It shuts off automatically at 43 degrees Celsius. My RO is rated for 150gph and has a 4" by 40" membrane. I am using a 325 gallon tank for permeate now and rinse with that. I used to have a 550 gallon tank but use that one in the woods now and most likely will use that one again when I add another membrane to my RO.
