How do I attach the ceramic insulation to the walls of the arch? I was thinking of high temp silicone but its only rated for 500 degrees. Thanks, Chris

If you are using the silicone to glue it to the steel walls of the arch it will work fine. The insulation will keep the temp way below 500°. Plus if you cut it a little big and wedge it in it tends to stay in place pretty well in areas that aren't banged by wood.
If your are insulating behind firebrick, the bricks will hold it in.

Dont glue it. as stated let the brick hold it in. You have to ask yourself will glueing it in help hold the brick? NO IT WONT will holding it in place make it easier YES so think temporary. If your only using blanket in the flue area you can use fender washers and 1/4-20 bolts and dont over squeeze the blanket and it will stay in place. NOW in my arch in the flue area I didnt use anything to hold it in place. I just layed it from side to side and after 7 years it looks fine.
