hello folks!
this is a great site. I have been visting this site for about a year.
How ever this is my first post.
I have been making syrup for a few years. started with a oil drum stove with 20 taps. than I was given a 2x4.
Last jan. I bought a new 2x8 from leader with the max pan.
we tapped 550. about half buckets and half pipeline.This year we hope to get 700. (my goal is 1200 by 2012)

I have a helping wife (13yrs) a 7 yearold boy (learning, helping) and a 3 yearold daughter ( soon to be learning)

barnet is about 1 hour from standsted canada (south)
we genally start tapping town meeting day (first of march)

And I am 8 miles north of Stanstead so your close more or less. Of course guys a few miles north of me had pulled their taps a week before me up here.

I would say I get round 65 to 70ish gph, before i hit my goal I'll need a pre heater,hood and maybe a ro.

Welcome fellow vermonter , I am closer to Ken than i am you but still in vermont. There are quite a few folks on here from Vermont look at the poll for most members in each state, i think we are second to NY. Enjoy the site
