couple arch questions

OK got the arch about half way framed and welded, and ran into a couple things I need to figure out.

1 How do you guys with blowers blow into the firebox? just a 4" pipe in the back or do you have a pipe or something going into the center or the firebox?

The easy way is just to pipe it in the bottom. The most efficient way is to get about 80% of it to the top of the fire where it will add oxygen to the wood gases and increase the efficiency of the burn. Search for more posts on this topic, you will see some elaborate designs for air injection over the fire.
