I am already looking into next year man this one's not even here yet.

anyway I want to get an 800 gallon SS round bottom tank. Bascom's has the Dallaire Econo SS tank line and this size is about $1150. the price is right anyone use thiese tanks and are they durable!!!! or should I break down and spend the extra money???

Why are these tanks so much cheaper than others...say Leader? Bascom's sells a 787 Dallair Econo for $1150, but Leader's 750 gal is $2155. Are they using factory second s/s...something that works perfectly fine, but just doesn't look pretty?

When comparing tanks you have to remember to compare apples to apples. Same size to same size, not by just gallons to gallons. A 4' x 8' x 4' has 827 gallons for $991 and a 4' x 14' x 2 1/2' tank has 819 gallons for $1661 because the longer tank has almost twice as much material in it.

Actually the 4x8x4 tank would take about 7 sq ft of stainless less than the longer tank. that's rough math, with a round bottom, not considering sheet materials. I come up with about 111 sq feet for a 4 x4x8 and 118 sq ft for a 4 x 14 x 2.5. My take on the whole deal is that some manufacturers make more profit than others.

You are correct my guesstamet was off when I said the longer tank had twice as much material in it. There is actually only 18% more sheet material and 45% more structure steel.

I have a 3x3x7 (around 400 gal) from CDL and it's been perfect. Haven't understood how they can offer so much stainless equip. at such a lower price than others. Canadian gov't subsidies for stainless? Not sure they even make any galvinized equip. anymore.
