I think Theron asked this question last year but I can't find the thread. Anybody ever change the sight glass tubing on an SP? What did you use?

Why do you need to replace it? If it isn't broke just clean it.

The sp22 that I got this year had a sight glass that you couldn't see thru so I removed it and cut a small piece of scotchbrite pad to push thru it and cleaned it up like new.

On my SP-11 I used a piece of Tygon clear plastic type tube from the hardware store. Or does the 22 have somnething different??

Clear plastic tubing from the hardware store. Easy to install, works great, won't break, and is almost free. Put it on my SP-11

Thanks guys, I figured it didn't need anything fancy.

Dennis- i looked into that but the outside is chipped and scratched and just plain beat up and the dirt and grime has settled into the nicks and cracks etc.

Its actually much cleaner on the inside of the tubing. Good thing!

Most sight glass is the same size. My evap and coffee maker is the same size as boilers. You can get them in 24" lengths at good heating supply. Can be cut with a glass cutter.
