Did any of you ontario producers get your 1liter per tap last year?? We had a great year in our area. We have a bucket operation and we got roughly .83 litres per tap. Some of the tubing operations on vacuum got over 1 litre around here.

I tapped 97 trees on buckets and made more than 90 litres of syrup. I also dumped sap more than once last season as I boil on a 2x3 flat pan and couldn't keep up. Best year ever - 20 years doing it.

The one fellow I know that sugars here with vacuum figures they haven't got more then 3 pounds a tap ever. He's in his 80s and his Grandfather and father tapped before him. The one thing some guys do here is they stop real quick compared to what I would tap. Once a few trees bud they pull everything.

In 2009 we had 1100 taps and got 1160 litres of syrup. This year the maple bug is biting hard and we're going for 1400 taps. I can't waite to see what the spring run will be like.

This past season we got .75 ltr per tap. We thought it was a pretty average year with only a few "big' runs.

We've been at or above 1L/tap in 2 of the past 3 years but this was the fist time in over 20 years. With more vacuum and tubing improvements we hope this becomes the norm!

Last year we ended up 1.59l/tap but I only do 9 trees along my drive so optimal conditions.

Last year we had 2050 taps on buckets and 3150 litres syrup. We fertilize our bush I feel that helps.

I think we were near 1 L / tap. We figure we hauled in 17400 litres of sap that was better than 2% .... until we ran out of firewood and body energy to do more. And from what I've heard talking to locals, we missed the best 7 - 10 days at the end of the season. This energy issue is why we got a real RO for this year and we're getting serious about oil fired for next year. Anyone got a 2 x 6 oil fired they want to sell ?

We had real sweet sap last year. 1.3 liters per tap! I hope it repeats this year
