View Full Version : Anyone used Roxul for insulation?

Its a new "eco-friendly" insulation made out of wool and rock. Looks kind of like particle board.
Apparently, its rated up to 2100 degrees.

I looked into useing it for my arch. They make a board insulation that is made for boilers and such but trying to find it in this province is hard. Lumber yard down the road sells the bats for a reasonable amouts and I might just use those and squish them a bit with some kind of fire brick and go for it. The real arch board is expensive here but I can get it shipped in form Bascoms for the same price as one piece for some reason.

I got some Roxul RHT 2" mineral wool. Just put it in today. I think it will work pretty well. Check out the pictures.
