Just saw this on eBay. Three days left and no reserve.....
Located in PA.

Listing reads:
"<This is an Oil fired evaporator for sale. It had a small brothers 4 x 6 raised flue pan, a 4 x 6 leader front pan (could be used but will need to be replaced), burners are included.
I used this arch and pan for several years - works good.
If you have questions please give me a call at 814-720-9656.>

May be a good start for someone and thought I'd share it.

Ok, I don't get it. Just looks like a piece of ceramic blanket pan gasket??? Not sure what everyone is getting so excited about.

I believe this is the same evaporator in the Maple Trader classifieds.

My 1st look at the pans I said the same thing, what happened there. The only kind of metal that I can think of that burns like that is aluminum. Then I looked closer and I have to agree with Brandon it is just somekind of gasket material that he used between that flue and syrup pans.

I agree, it's the ceramic blanket that was used between the rear pan and stack base. I do the same thing to keep the rear pan from scorching were sap splashes up over high sap line !Jim L.

I have to agree the pans look ok if the price stays down it will be a good price. If you run a forced draft it is necessary to put pan gasket between the pans

Once somebody points it out it is ceramic blanket. Not many pictures of the burner and the arch its self. Depends on just whats wrong with it.

What a bunch of HENS Give the guy a call you can ask the seller a question and then we will all sleep better tonight knowing what is "wrong" with the setup. Its not like he started at $5000.00

I wonder if someone gets that rig if the chatter would be the same.

Cluck cluck cluck. Cock a doodle Doo. I am pretty leary of buying something that I can't see. Unless it's in a bag and then I take my chances. I always remember my Grandfather explaining what a pig in a poke was to me.

Guys I think that if you look at it a little closer the pans are not in the right order as it sits. The flue pan is on the front of the arch instead of the back. That meltdown or ceramic blanket you see is where the syrup pan buts up against and probably should not be there to allow the flames to get up into the flues. You can see the wholes for the burner that is not attached right in front of the flue pan on the arch. Just needs to be switched around.
