Has anybody thought of using an air compresser to supply air over fire?
You could get alot pressure and put on a regulater. but CFM would likely be way too low.

i thought about it but that is one more thing you have to maintain and my 3x8 calls for like 350 cfms that is a lot of air compressor

You need volume not pressure. If you have ever had to pressure up a large tank with a compressor you would see that the volume takes a long time to fill. You need something like a 2 inch pipe to the fire and a compressor just wouldn't fill it.

There is a point that the high compressed air would blow the flame out and only make glowing embers not flame. We use back pack blowers to get brush piles going. It is a form of comp but low pressure high volume.......just like a blower in the arch. I have used my 4 cylinder 130CFM 80PSI comp to start a fire and it worked better out where the volume increased and the pressure was lower.
