Filter rack/tray pictures

I can't find any good pictures online of filter racks/trays. Could somebody post a few good pictures of theirs, or any good detailed shot of one? I'd like to start adding them as an option. I have a pretty good idea of how I'd like to make it, but having a few options is always nice to pull from.

Are you planning on making them out of SS screen. You want to have as little filter material sitting on the tray as possible. If the tray is 24"x24" and the holes take up 50% of the filter area your filter is 12"x 24' so go with woven screen it gets the filter cloth up off the tray

I got some of these fro alot less than this price. I think they would work good setting on a couple SS 3/8 rods with the flat filter laying over them...

mine is 1/2 inch stainless steel screen have seen some with 1/4 alum screen

I have some 1/4" stainless perf screen that I was going to use. I was going to try that or some 1/2" stainless perf screen.

The two dont go together in my mind Dont you mean perf. sheet. Screen is woven from round wire. The wire allows for the best filter surface. The perf sheet has alot of dead space on the filter cloth.

I would think wire screen or expanded metal would be best. By the way, emailed you about this very subject today, before I saw this thread.

If anybody has pictures would be nice. I would like to find a sorce of this wire screen for a filter tray as I found out with pressing apples that the metal between the holes cuts down on the filtering. You get all these nice round spots where the filter plugs at the holes.

28 of them is a little much. Price works out okay apiece but sort of 27 to many of them.

I think the dimensions are 12" x 20" and maybe 14-16" high. Holds 10 gals when full to the brim. Holes are 1/4" i think.

Thanks Perry thats what I needed to see. The screen on that has lots of tiney holes instead of screen. It I could find the right screen out of a hammer mill it would work well.

Im going with the 1/2" stainless expanded metal approach. I think this will leave enough space between.

Good find with the way that is made it has nice high spots to hold the filter up Plus its strong and ridged. I have a few trailers I built that have that on the floor. Self Cleaning at 70 MPH

Amongst many other things I did in the shop today. I started the filter trays. They are made to fit my 15 x 15 finish pan. Here are some preliminary pictures. The Finish pan is just tacked for now. Just to show how it fits.

I will free of charge test it for a season or so if you like. I might keep it if you don't want to be bothered taking it back. I am pretty easy that way.

Jeff- yes, it is the beginning of yours. Its just tacked together for fitment. It will look much nicer once its finished. No pun intended ;)
