Thinking about building an arch with poured concrete 8in walls lined with firebrick would this work?

Don't see why it won't work. I thought about doing it until I finally decided to go with a fuel drum approach. Insulation inside the arch to protect the concrete will be critical. Here's a link to a thread with some thoughts for you:

i can show you several very old archs built that way..there scattered all thur the woods around here and it was the norm at one time.
from what i,ve seen and figured out they built a wooden form,layed the firebrick in then poured the concrete in the form..locking the bricks inplace.
