I still need to get some rail gasket to line the frame for the rest. pans. I'm leaning towards the rope verses ceramic. Either way what should I secure it with?

Off subject: I'm in mourning.Three mature maples in my neighbors yard are being cut down one a day. It's a crying shame.

Valleyman,
You dont need to secure the rail gasket with anything. the weight of the pans will hold it in place.

I was going to secure my gasket and Im glad I didnt because It only lasted a year so I was glad I didnt have to scrape it off. Mine turned into glass on the inside edge and the pulling of pans would rip and break it so it was easier to replace as needed.

I use TremPro 644 made by Tremco. It's a high temp Silicone in a tube.

The flat woven rail gasket that the Maple Guys or Bascoms sells is better than ceramic or rope gasket. It is about 2" wide and about 1/4" thick and should last for several years. It is similar to rope gasket, but is flat and wide, so much easier to get under the pans and in the proper place than rope gasket.
