I have a collection tank about 60 ft below my sugarhouse and about 200 feet away. What is the best way to get this sap up to my storage tank? Any suggestions on pumps? How much power do I need? How big of line? I have access to electricity or I could use gas, whatever works best.

I think if I had access to electricity, I would use an electric pump activated by a float switch. That way the tank would not have to be as large and you would not have to go and pump it several times a day.

i have a tank that is about 70 ft verical below my sugar house and about 650 feet away and i use a 3.5 hp pacer pump, on a 3/4 inch line it pumps about 5+ gals a min which is alittle slow but i think my pump needs to be rebuilt any how, a 240$ 3.5hp pump from tractor supply or northern tools will do you just fine, if i were to do my setup over again i would run an 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" line for faster pumping

I use a Honda WX10 gas pump to pump my sap 900' with about a 50 foot rise. I'm using a 1" pipe. It takes 15 minutes to pump 100 gals. I go check and fix vacuum leaks while the pump is pumping so that I am getting 2 jobs done at the same time.
