Has anyone ever run ran their manline under the road in a culvert?, and if so, have you had problems with the line staying froze?

I have never done that but have seen several and I think most work well. Keep some pitch on the line and be sure you don't have a sag just before or after the culvert.

I do and it work ok for me. The culvert is about 40 feet long, however it has alot of pitch.

I do the same as Keith. Wet/dry line, no problem.

I was going to run a wet/dry line through a culvert and the road commissioner just asked me to keep the lines up against the top of the culvert to help prevent leaves from damming up. The problem with using a culvert is that your lines are at the mercy of the town. Instead, I got a permit from the town to excavate the road and put my own sleeves in. Put one in for underground power and another for my wet dry line.

I have several under roads. I put a valve at the bottom of the line to make sure it's drained when there's a freeze.

my dad has two wetlines running thur culverts and it works fine.he has a public atv trail running arossed his land and he needs to keep it open and safe..thus the culverts.
likes been said keep that part of the line graded so it won,t fill up with sap and freeze.his are both on wires and at the top of the culvert.i think he used 12 inch pipes
