Where I'm located the avrage temp for Dec are 24 Lo 42 High. Our Feb Avg 23/41 both are perfect temp for good runs. Jan 19/36 and March 32/50 but on avg not much 32 or below. My ? is sence Dec to end of feb are the best temps would the sugar content in Dec be high enough to tap early Dec. 10 day forcast 6 day below freezing and Hi 45 good sap temps.

put in a test tap and see how much sap you get and what the sugar% is.That way you can make an informed guess. I do that here in NY around Christmas.

last year was a much colder november and we had snow no much but remember hunting in it. and december looks nice and cold in the 30's here by next week!! I have 2 buckets up on cull trees but that is all I will do just want to play around a bit...all the rest are for the spring run!!!

Tap around last week or a touch earlier in Jan and you may catch some sap in Jan and Feb you should be good. More than likely you will get at least 7 to 10 days into March that are good sap weather.
