So Environment Canada has made it official today ... El Nino strikes again and we are in for a mild winter. Hmmmm tapping in January ? Three months of intermittent sap flow ??? I think I'm already behind schedule.

Those guys are wrong more often than I am in arguments with my wife! We'll be tapping the first few weeks of March - just like we've done for the past 25 years!

Yeah, and if you take the written pilots test for an Instrument Rating you can be wrong 33% of the time and still get your licence.

I wonder what the passing grade is for "meteorologist" ?

Me figures this will be a record cold year and lots of snow. I am never wrong. My knees hurt so bad it's not funny.

Ken,
Your knees hurt from the damage you did to them last spring carrying all that sap:lol:

I will say it is going to be an average winter, can't be to far off that way. I will let you all decide what average is.

I'm thinking it will be like it has been for the past 3 years, and we're tapping some time in the first 2 weeks of March.

We were tapping in February before that, but it's been colder lately.
