i just picked up 2 300 gallon well water pressure tanks do you guys think the tanks will take a vacuum

Yes they will take the atmospheric pressure. Plus what is the worst thing that can happen:o.......Scrap metal. They would work great as VACUUM RESERVOIRS not boosters:rolleyes:` And when someone asks what in the tanks say NOTHING and then when they say..... What are they for.......... Just say for holding nothing........................... you get what I mean.

around here we call that sail boat fuel i got two tanks they are 300 gallon each

I have a 400 gal tank that was made for a college. It was suppose to be used for hot water but never got used. I bought it and use it for vacuum.
the biggest question is what the shape is? If it is square or straight sides it will not hold up to as much vac as a round tank with round ends.
If it is round with round ends then it will hold vac.

There was a video on youtube of a member putting vac to a 55 gallon steel drum and crushed it.
