I have a great big roll of galvanized sheet metal and I was considering chopping it up to make hinged covers for sap buckets. Not the roof style I do not like them. Any Ideas?

I made my own covers last spring when I could not find any around. Of course I am crazy remember. The best design I came up with used plumbers strap bent over for the wire pin thru the spile.

Any pictures of these fancy bucket covers???
I have 100 buckets with no lids. Only planning on using 50 this year but I need to come up with something over the next few months. I have access to some metal equipment in my lab (ie. shop) at school (I'm a teacher) and am just looking for ideas.
Thanks,
Keith

I have both flat and the roof style covers, I like the roof ones better the flat ones. the flat covers are always off to one side letting a lot more debris in the buckets

I am unforutunatly computer handicapped when it comes to pictures. But it was fairly simple to do with either small machine screws or copper rivets. I spent a lifetime changeing knives on a hay mower and a swather.
