I JUST got a screamin' deal on some fire brick.
Long story but I brought home about 360 bricks, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 by maybe 8" (?)
The interesting thing about these is that it appears they were used in a glass kiln as there is some of what appears to be melted glass on quite a few.
The ONLY marking I can make out is W S 1606?
Here's the best part,..................paid $5.00 fer the whole pile! SA-Weet!
(Some day) will be used for a block arch, in my (someday to build) sugar shack!
One piece at a time,............and didn't cost me a dime,...........!
