It brought a smile to my face to hear this on the way to work this morning. I've heard there is controversy about these taps (I think), not trying to stir the pot but was just happy to hear maple madness in the mainstream media.

I heard the story too....has anyone tried these taps? Do they work as advertised?

I just looked on the leader site and couldn't find any mention of them. Am I missing something obvious?

You need to check the thread where this has been discussed at length.

SO when will the testing and manufacturing phase be finished. and when will they be availiable to the gereral public. sound like its quiet a simple thing and a good idea, would like to know if they work with gravity tubing I would think it would. From the sounds of them they may be a little pricey. like everything else in maple land I guess!!!

They are available this fall. Cost is $.35 each, and you need the stubby spout,.29. Some say they'll work on old 7/16 spouts, too.
