HI guys I am wondering what size stack i should put on my 2x54 it is a 2x3 now with a 6" stack. I am adding 14" to it so should i go to 8" stack size. I have enough 6" and 8" stack to go either way. Thanks farmboy

I vote for the 8 inch. Make sure you atleast double the length of the pipe in comparisson to the length of your arch.

Farmboy,
We have a 2x5 and have a 6" stack on ours.
It is 15' long.
We also has forced draft.
Even without the forced draft it has a pretty good draft.

I had a 2x4 flat pan that had a 7", and it worked well. I switched it to a 6" (easier to find parts) and the draft was noticible less, harder to get a real jumping boil.
So from My experience, I would say go to the 8". You know you will not be undersized with that. Stack height is critical, as mentioned before. I would not want less that 12' with that pan size.
If you have good wood and that stack, you will have a great boil!
