Well a 4X8 sheet of SS is around $200 to $250 depending where you buy it. That is plenty of material to make a pan that size. You have to measure 10 times and cut once and it gives you enough for the pan plus the dividers. I have a place here that has scraps of SS plate for $1:75 a pound and I have to figure out how to make use of it now.

I just bought some 22 ga. stainless (304) from Metal Supermarket in Mississauga, ON. The price worked out to $140 for a 4x8 sheet. They even cut it to the sizes that I wanted at no charge.

They have stores all over Canada and the US. I found them on the internet and they were very helpful.

Thats not bad my price was for a bit thicker metal. So far haven't had much luck finding 20 gauge or thiner.

Farmboy,

I called a local metal working shop that specializes in stainless steel and got a quote of $260 for an 18 gauge, 2X4 flat pan, 6" deep, with a 3/4" threaded nipple. Given the price of the steel alone this seemed like a really good deal to me. You might want to try seeing if there's anyone specializing in stainless in your area and try the same.
