I have a surge alamo rotary type vacumn pump. Something that I bought in a salvage yard. It has a place on the intake side that seems to be a good place to srew in an oiler. I am thinking of using a tube with a small petcock so that it drips in. But I am wondering if the vacumn will just drain the resevoir. It is hooked up tp a 5.5 honda motor. pump has a 12" pulley and a 2 1/2" pulley on the motor. vacumn guage on the pump reads 25" This setup should work just need to come up with an inexpensive oiler. Anyone have an idea?

on my surge 76 the fellow that worked on it did away with the recovery oil from the exhaust and ran a new line from a 5 gallon bucket to an adjustable drip oiler on each bearing,,like kevin sais 4-5 drops a minute,,,very inportant to get the drips right,,too much and you will have a ton of smog comming out of the pump,,,too little and no more pump,,,my pump is also hooked to a 5.5 honda,,worked great
