I am looking to purchase my first evaporator this year. I have found several wood evaporators in the size that I am looking for (3x12,4x10) but I am not sure how much of a headache it will be to convert to oil. I already have several burners. If anyone has any info on this that would be great.
Thanks,
Doug

One thing you can do is go to search and look for the many threads to do with converting from wood to oil.

It all depends on how much of the system you have. Burner, tank, elec, fuel lines. When we converted our 2x8 to oil all we did was stick the burner thru a 1/4 plate where the door was and thats all we did to the arch. We didnt change the flue pipe or the cumbustion chamber.
If your starting from scratch like I did making my arch for the 3x10 I followed the plans that were drawn up for me. If you have a arch and its bricked I would put fire blanket over the brick and line the cumbustion chamber to make it smaller. The think I like about the blanket is after 6 years its like new and I can change and reconfigure it and tweek the system.
