I was looking for some glass to put next years light amber into, Really like the 500ml growlers that leader has on there web site. I also saw some sauce bottles on some other container web sites that would do. with shipping and the extra for glass shipping or minimum order frees they are coming in close to 4-5 dollars a bottle. I was at wally world last night and saw the same sauce bottles (with sauce in them) for 97 cents. add a new cap and labels I'm still under 2 dollars a bottle.

This does not make senses to me. what am I doing wrong...... what will I do with 2 gallons of barbecue sauce???? What do you smaller guys do?

Maybe I should stay in the woods with the chain saw, it more fun that trying to track down bottles.........

That is what happens when you buy in huge bulk you get better pricing. Our state maple organization buys glass and plastic in bulk and resells them to the members at a better rate than you can get from the dealers. One other thing I do is give a dollar discount to the people who return their glass jars to be refilled next year. I make sure that they get the same bottle back and I make it clear to them they will not be getting someone elses used jar. If they don't want to participate they don't have to they just pay the premium price.

Try Fillmore Container in Lancaster PA. www.fillmorecontainer.com I got qt sauce bottles and Half gallon growlers for a very reasonable price this spring. I got ones that shared the same cap so I only had to deal with one kind of lid. The shipping costs as much as the bottles but I still averaged about $2 per bottle when I got 2 cases of each size. To get the shipping down to a reasonable level per bottle I had to get the 4 cases. Now if you are ever in Lancaster you can pick them up and save the shipping.

There prices are as good as anyones and their service is second to none!We picked up 100cases of bottles for our mustard and a few cases for our maple peanut butter spread.
Great folks you will not do better

I lucked out for glass this year as I found D&G had a sale on old glass bottles for 50 cent's each. Some I had to buy tops for but most came with tops and lids and such. Now to figure out how to ship them back west to my family.

DanE It has been awhile but the one I used to get my jars from was Lewis County Maple producers Association. Im in Oswego county and it did not matter back then not sure if it still does. But membership there also give you membership to New York Maple syrup Association. There are alot of great benefits being a member. I gotta get back onboard Just for the sake of supporting our industry. Contact info is President – Evan Zehr (315) 376-3082 http://www.lcmpa.org/ Just went to the website it includes the counties of Lewis, Jefferson, Oswego and Oneida.
