I was just curious to see what type of material you guys have used to pipe over fire air into your fire box I was wondering about steel but would like so opinions

I used a bunch of stainless steel hydraulic tubing. Glows red if you turn off the air but hasn't burned up yet.

Titanium pipe if you can not get that the SS is you next best bet.

In the original intens-o-fire arches, they used 1/4" thick square steel tubing and then covered the outside with a layer of 1" ceramic blanket. In small arch, you could probably get by with 2" or 2.5", but in a larger arch, you would need probably 3". If you add insulating board behind the firebrick in the arch and use full size firebrick, this should work out pretty good if you let the steel tubing lay against the metal arch wall.

If you could find old cast pipe it would last longer then thin wall steel pipe. Just harder to work with. I have some here that works but you have to cut it to the size you want but you can't bend it as it shatters.
