Plugging stubbies

Got a quick (stupid?) question. I've never used stubbies, but how do you plug them for the off season (Leader stubby)? I tried one on a cup tee, and knew it wasn't going to work. Are you supposed to leave the old spout adapter on til next season for plugging purposes?

That or change out the drop using a two step tee.

I use 2 step tee also and it works good for the stubby to plug it through the summer
