Float Box Location

I'm putting a new float box on my evap. Taking out the distribution box style system and putting in the newer 3 pipe style. This gives me the opportunity to put the float box on whichever side I want. Looking at the front the evap. is about 2.5' from the wall. Is the float box typically on the wall side of the evap. or on the inside side of the evap? I can see pros and cons to each, wondering what other people typically do.
