well as i mentioned before we are doing everything we can to set up this new bush as cheap as possible. we were able to pick up 800 ft of 2" black mainline (brand new) for free. now this is obviously much bigger than we need since we are going to have maybe 700 taps on this one mainline total. is it bad to use mainline that big if it is not necessary? how hard is it to find fittings for line this big? and how would we connect our 3/4" branch lines into this? thanks for all the help

Sell it on ebay or trade for something smaller. Everything costs more as you get bigger. You can always use 2" Ts with 1" bushings to get down to a managable size. One nice thing with larger size and vacuum is it becomes a large reserve tank. Make sure that you unroll it and let it sit in the hot sun for a few days if not weeks to get the memory out of it.

the tubing is brand new, would bascoms or goodrich trade 2" for 3/4"-1"?

I agree. Try to sell or trade. There are many producers who have large sugarbushes and could use 2". In Bascom's catalog they list 2" @1.15/ft. compared to .22/ft for 3/4"
So if you could sell even at say 1.00/ft that is a deal and then you would have ample money to buy the 3/4" or 1" and all of the 5/16 manifolds etc. to boot.
