I'm going to look at a new evap tomorrow, 2.5x8 waterloo small, 4 years old. I havne't seen it yet. My current evap. is a 2.5x8 grimm lightning with forced draft grates and blower. wondering if I should just swap pans and keep my arch, or just keep them complete and buy the waterloo and sell the grimm. mainly buying it for the update pans and floats. are the waterloo and grimm arches basically the same?

thoughts??

thanks

How many taps are you going to add over the next 10 years? How soon until you make the leap to an RO? If you 're not ready for an RO, look for a 3x12 or 4x10 instead of staying with the same size evaporator. I'm sure you're no different than 90% of us, you'll keep adding taps as long as you can find them and afford to do it. If you're ready for the RO, this year or next, get as nice a 2.5 x 8 as possible, then grow with the RO. If not, go for the bigger rig.

If your arch is 12 years old and the other one is 4 , I'd want the 4 year old arch, some newer arches are bigger and better.

Andy, I should be able to get into the waterloo for little, if anything, after I sell the Grimm if the deal works out right and I get a near new evap. The biggest evap. I could put in my SH and still have room for people to move is a 3x8.

Thanks Bill. Do you sleep? 4:42 on a weekend is pretty early.

Well, the seller was full of it, to say the least. The 4 yo 2.5x8 Waterloo turned out to be a 2x6 waterloo pans with a small brothers arch, or some combination of that. Russ said the arch was about 14 yo. So no go.

most deals that are too good to be true, usually are just that.

Mark, it was going to be $3000 for it...thought what a deal...should've known better. It would've been a 10 year upgrade at no cost. oh well.
