I want to build an oil reclaimer for my Delaval 73. I want to get away from having an oil mist across my yard next season. I also used up 1.5 gallons of oil during the season and would just as soon recycle it back into the pump.

Does anybody have details on how to build one?

Thanks

I didn't like the look of all the oil mist spraying from our Welch Duo-Seal pump, so to partially solve the problem I started with an exaust pipe angled up so as much oil as possible would run back into the pump. Then on the end of this pipe I put a five gallon jug. Most of the oil condensed on the inside of the jug and was able to be emptied as necessary. This pump seemed to spray a good deal of moisture too though, so reusing the oil wasn't an option.

There are certainly other systems, likely a good deal more complicated and expensive, but for starters this worked alright. I will probably switch out the pump next year though with one that is a little more environmentally friendly.

if you bought a wood splitter tank from northern hydo. that is the tank that hold the hydo oil to run the splitter with filter and plumbed it up with a muffler. you can make a reclaimer

Amber Gold I think Im getting better at making reclaimers anly because I failed in some of my ideas. Maplecrest has a good idea about the oil tanks. I have the oil/air that discharges from my Massport go into a homemade tank that holds 10 gallons what that does is slow it down and help cool it down. because I flood my intake and bearings a Have alot more oil mist that dumps into the tank. From the tank the oil mist goes into a reclaimer and thru Coalesing filters that are made to recapture the oil from the mist. They work by oil forming on the filter and then all oil mist that passes thru the filter will collect and run down the filter and can be recirculated. If I wasnt so inept I would post a picture so send me your email Ill send a picture of my beast.

I generally open pictures that need resizing in Paint, and then scale down by the appropriate percent. Every computer should have Paint in the Accessories menu, and the resize function is located in the Image tab up top.
