I'm still goin'. My syrup is dark but I am still tasting it without a grimace and I still can turn the vacvaroom up a notch too. Not gonna let some pirate suck water out of the creek longer than I do!

I got about 8" of snow today and its going to be cold all week I'm still going finished 4 gals of amber today bring my total to 11 gal from 17 taps. I thinking of getting some 5 gal pails and selling bulk.

All of our trees are budded and the sap looks like milk but we made 20 gallons on saturday ran the pumps today and the rest of the week looks to be ideal for sap runs. We stiil have wood and sap sitting at 1% so we will make syrup until we run out of wood or sap. The last 60 gallons have a severe wang to them but the odd thing is the first 40 came out med amber in color despite the low sugar and milky sap. Gotta be in it to win it !

I am still going. I gathered 4 day old sap yesterday and was expecting bad stuff but it boiled out at grade b with good taste. It is supposed to freeze 3 nights this week. Maybe we can have a chance of ending up with an avarage season.

33gal in the past three days. All vac sap. All "C". All good. Pulled buckets yesterday. Gravity lines are dry. Vac lines are giving 1/2 gal of sap / tap a day still. Looks good for the next 5 days. Enough wood for one more boil. Time to find some standing dead to make it to the end. Whenever that is???

I had a tiney run today when it warmed up enough. Then clouds rolled in and it stopped. All I need is a cold night and a warm day. I have lots of trees with out buds still.

I processed 700 gal. sap tonight, and finally finished syrup I've been holding in the finishing pan from two prior boils, so put 35 gal. in the barrel. Thought sure it would be extra dark, but actually made borderline dark A. Wife says it has good flavor still, but I'm not so sure. Gotta taste it later. Still hoping for freezing weather, vacuum still going!

I am sure we have some season left. The syrup out last night was high dark A. I have not made any B grade yet. Vacuum ran at least 1 gallon/ tap yesterday. Hard freeze going on now.

The neighbors cattle got out and pulled the vacuum pump electric cord from the barn. Those only ran a quart per tap not having vacuum. Oh these little things really get to ya!

We're hanging on for one more weekend. I'm headed off to Atkinson's this afternoon to pick up 3 more drums or else we'll have nowhere to put syrup after Thursday! My time & energy and my wife's patience are all in short supply but I can't let good sap go to waste!!! Gotta hit the 1,000 gallon mark or else!

I need some heat to get the trees to drip. When it stops raining and warms up a bit the trees drip and then shut down as soon as it rains again. I have lots of trees just need the weather for them.

I'm still hanging on. My lowest grade was mid-grade Grade A Dark Amber made last friday (no sap since then).

Temp is just dropping below 32 right now and it looks like some sugaring weather for the next few days. I washed the tanks out and dumps the little bit of sap in the buckets.

I'm at 86 gallons right now and still hoping to break 100 gals.

Froze last night here also and early evening also which makes the freeze better. All it has to do is get enough sun to start the trees running and I am away. Only time will tell.

We collected 200 gallons yesterday, still pretty clear. Heard the peepers about half a mile from the bush so it's getting close to quitting time.

Folrecast looks good for a while here still.I moved all my taps to sugar maples from the reds and the silvers and they are all running today. If they were not running I moved them to trees that were. My last push of the season.
