I have a two post 4" membrane springtech machine.

I am curious if anyone else has the same machine or similar one and what you get for flow rates.

I have 2 NF-270 membranes.

My cdl 250 with two xle40 40 membranes did 2.5 gals/min permeate and 1 gal/ min concentrate from 1.5% to 7% this morning.

Van does yours have recirculation on the membranes?

Yes they have the recirc pump on the membranes housing. What are your flow rates.

My r/o has only 1 pump with no recirc. A good friend of mine had 2 NF270s that he coudn't use. We built a simple system with stainless vessels, a sprayer pump, with a recycled 13 hp motor. It may not be as efficiant as a manufactured machine but it can average about 2 gallons of water per minute removed. Without the membranes and motor I have less than a thousand bucks into it.[I haven't added up the receipts yet] After season I can try to post pictures if anyone is interested.

im not getting nothing like your getting van, i have 2 nf90 4040 membrains and im only getting 1.4 filtrate, and am running 290psi of pressure maybe thats why i dont see my r/o doing 200 a hour maybe its the membrains?

nf90 40 40 do have a lower flow rate. go to dow filmtec and look at the specs for the different membranes. higher psi does add gals/min, to a point, but fouls the membranes faster.

I live in Spring Valley, about 20 miles west of Menomonie. My r/o is "new" this year so I'm just getting to know what it can do etc. My friend made the same type of system on a large scale that he has been using for many years. R/O's seem complicated until you see how simple some systems can be. With manual controls and TLC some of his membranes have lasted over 10 years.

The acid wash worked. I was getting .75 gpm out of the permeate before.

I washed it with soap, acid bath for 18 hours, then washed again with soap. I was able to get 2.5 gpm out of the permeate after the final rinse. So we are back in business. The down time will be quickly caught up in better performance.

If your membranes aren't doing what they should try and acid wash.
