Hello,
I made candy for the first time last week. I bought new rubber molds,
rinsed them, applied glicerine, filled them, but all my candy tastes like
rubber. Does anybody know how to treat the molds so you do not get
a rubber taste in the candy. Man i was really bummed out.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

You are supposed to boil them in water and baking soda for a little while when they are new according to the directions I received from Voorhees, who make most of the rubber molds out there.

I didn't boil but washed them with hot hot water and baking soda... they were fine after that.
