I have a 3 gph oil burner off of a furnace, and I was wondering if anybody knew if it is enough gph to run a 2 1/2 x 8 evaporator.

Ryan,

Don't know much about oil, but from my research from earlier this year since I was thinking about converting over to oil is that you need aprox a 5gph nozzle or higher on a 2.5 x 8. It should work, just don't think you would get the gph boiled you really need to make it crank like it should.

You can max out the burner by turning up the pump pressure(if it's not set at 140psi already)and still use a 3gph nozzel and maybe get another .55 gallon out of it , But your really at the max, Brandons right , My 2x6 calls for a 3gph, I will probably be a bit higher maybe 3.5. you will need like a carlin 301 which does appx 2-6gph
