cleaning flue pan

Just curious how many people clean their flue pan during the season? We have been switching front pans around but have not done the flue pan yet.

Never cleaned my flue pan during the season.

Although in years that I have made over 120 gallons of syrup (on my 3x10), I will sometimes drain & clean the syrup pan to reduce the buildup if Sugar Sand.

I have drained mine and sprayed it out twice. First time I ran everything in front pan and flue pan thru the filter press and this last time, I let the gunk settle out of sap in the back pan and gravity filtered the front pan thru a cone prefilter and will dump it all back in except a little in the bottom of the buckets if I boil anymore.

I clean my flue pan in between sap runs. I just cannot stand looking at all the crap on the inside.
