Is there any affect on grade by recirculation of sap? I have started just bringing it up to about 10-12%. I have been getting Dark A but unsure if that is just the year.
Other than that recirculation is where it is at. You can process sap alot faster once you find your groove.

I was expecting to get back to grade a today, but stayed at b. Not sure if it's the recirc or sap.

FYI, I do not RO and I can't break A-Dark. I have been boiling hour old sap all day and did not see medium once. It is the year of the dark.

I too have been making dark syrup this season. The last time it did this at the start of the season it ran until the middle of April and I made my lightest syrup then.

Sometimes you just get what you get. I used to run my sap around the ro and there just is no rhyme or reason to it. Folks around here so far started in dark and are making fancy now. Don't read too much into one time or one year.
