maple taffy

has anyone ever had taffy in their syrup pan from the night before? must have done something wrong to have it get that thick. luckily my wife spotted it and we flooded the pan and gave it a good stir. no problem. had to be the fastest draw off I've had yet.

came close to that few year back. Didn't leave enough in the pan to map up for the evaporation while the fire died and things cooled down. You'll still see steam coming off a hour or more after the fire is out.
