Tapped 257 yesterday, trees were running really good then really picked up in the afternoon. Got tank all set and stuck the line in. Gonna check on it this morning. Have 385 to tap today and get the vacum pump up and running. Should be ok have a few extra guys to help out. Should be hauling sap tomorrow.

I am close to the Vermont border and so far not a drop except two trees. I think its sap just tastes like water to me. Hopefully after last nights freeze and tonights things improve.

Do you guys in Fairfeild know if it only going down to 30 at night will slow things down a lot the next day. I know the last weekend when it never went below 40 at night my trees shut right down on me.

Yes it could possibly shut right down. We need some rain or wet snow to charge the trees up.

Well have been boiling for three days in row now and looks like I`m going to make it four. I have been making nice light amber.Had to get more wood or I would`nt make year. Seems like I`m going through alot of wood this year but thats you get when you double your taps.Gotta love sugaring.:D
