I was just wondering if you guys thought I have enough taps in this tree. I could probably squeeze a couple more in there if I tried hard enough.
This maple syrup being so high priced an all, I thought maybe I should get as much as I could.
I didn't figure there was any use to spend lots of money running lots of lines all over the woods, when there was room on this tree for lots of taps.

Now that everyone thinks I am absolutely nuts, I will show you the rest of the story... Why waste good sap just because the tree was destroyed by Ice and wind. I will cut down the broken off staub after sap season, and make firewood out of it.

Uhhhh I think there is a good 6 feet of height left in that tree get a ladder I bet you could probably get another 2 to 300 taps on that thing. If you gotta pull them taps out of those other maples and stick them in that there tree. I bet it will be the best runner in the woods. Funny stuff you got going there.

fill the trunk right up, i had a maple that has been dying for years and it lost its last limb this fall, the limb was 10". i think it will still run this spring so once i find where the good wood is ( 80% of the tree is rotted) im going to put 5 buckets on it (tree is only 10ft tall now, but 2 ft wide
