Prices allways go down the new crop year untill they figure out if its a bust or a flood. The one place here quotes $2:35 for the top grade down to 85 cents.

Right on NHMaplemaker!!
As others have said boil it and hold on to it.
It's the old supply and demand, you've got the supply and it will be in demand later in the year.
The price will go back up.

If Maple Grove pays $ 2.50 for syrup now and price is established at $ 4.00 in the summer, you will get a check for the difference is my understanding, so I don't understand the rehetoric at least against them. I think they are doing the wise thing in that they will make it right. Doubt Bascom or many if any of the other buyers would step up to the plate like that.

We always set a price lower than what it will most likely end up being just before the season, nothing new here. Last year at this time we were paying 1.40 for commercial and ended up paying everyone that sold to us a premium on June 1st of more than double that.

Congrats to Jerry(802 maple) for his nice mug shot in the latest edition of THE MAPLE NEWS, page 17 or 19, I don't have it in front of me and can't remember.

Thanks to Jerry for all he has done to help the maple industry and myself even though I have never met him. Nice mug shot though! LOL!
