When you say its in the syrup pans is it stuck to the bottom of the pan? is it like beach sand just rolling around the boiling syrup. If its loose it will end up in the filter at draw off if its alot and its rolling around then I would scoop it towards the drawoff valve during drawoff. Now if its stuck to the bottom you need/want to get rid of it because it will add color cause pan scorching/warping and will keep heat from transfer to the syrup.

Normal woulnt worry about it get the sap swirling around when you drawoff and let it hit the filters.
