Another good place to look for a large inventory of used pans is Bascom in Alstead, NH. http://www.bascommaple.com/store/used.php

Keep an eye on our classifieds section (http://www.mapletrader.com/community/vbclassified.php) to see what other members have for sale. I'd also suggest checking out craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org). I've seen all kinds of maple equipment there in the past few months.

You could call the guy at http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_12420 his website was taken down but he'll make anything for you. I got my new 2'x4' pan from him this year. $500ish for 2'x4' pan, top, preheater, thermometer, drains, and shipping. His name is Paul Goetsch. (715) 536-4653

If your near a food processing plant check the scrap yards in the area. They scrap out a lot of stainless steel that can be used for for making pans. that's how I got mine. I took it to a heating and airconditioning guy who cut and bent it and had it welded. It works great. It is 2x3.5 14 gauge. Beats a turkey fryer.

What do you have to do to get the dividers installed? Does someone local have to weld?

He will weld up a pan, make dividers if you want them, but not weld them in?

What's up with that?

I sent the guy a message the other day about a devided pan. He said he was getting a welder that he would be able to weld the deviders in with. He said to keep checking, I guess his gun is to big to fit in the chases? I'll be in the market for next year so I can wait.

If he used the word 'gun' , that kinda sounds like a mig-gun, you might want to keep looking.

Check out Atkinson's Maple supplies out of Ontario, they do carry a 2'x5' pan that fits over an oil tank that is cut long ways with a piece of angle iron on the top. They have 2 versions, one large pan that sits on top or several smaller pans where you move the sap allong the arch.

A preheater may also be an option that just sits on the top of the pan for adding additional sap.

Dominion & Grimm out of Quebec also sells pans & might be able to assist. They have a distributor in Vancouver which comes in handy for shipping
It's hard to find anything second hand out west.
