No sugar house and I noticed during a test firing on a calm day ash comming down. I was wondering if I "off set" with 2 - 90 degree elbows , back to back at the top if that would have any advesre effect on draft? Or perhaps someone that has been down this road has a better mouse trap. Thanks in advance

Thats normal. We have the "fallout" also on calm days.

I don't think you want the elbows in there. Straight up and out is what you want. You don't want to hinder the draft that you have.

If anything, make your stack higher. The draft might increase, which would help a little bit to carry the ashes away.

Think of the big factory smoke stacks that are very high. They try to get the outlet high so the smoke is away from the building, and hopefully it travels, even with very little breeze.
